Portfolio: Fare Start

Cochran re-cabled this entire 35,000 square foot building that houses Farestart, a culinary job training and placement program for homeless and disadvantaged individuals. Coordination became a major part of this project because the aesthetics of the exposed old growth ceiling beams had to be maintained. We could not drill into the beams unless absolutely necessary, which meant routing became quite difficult between the Mechanical, Electrical, and Low Voltage trades. We accomplished the routing by hiding cable runs behind ducts, in gaps in the walls, and in any other place available where you might not normally run cable. The result was exactly what the customer wanted, exposed ceilings that were aesthetically pleasing and not filled with cables and conduit.
